2005 Château Camensac La Closerie de Camensac Haut-Médoc
The second wine of Château de Camensac is primarily made from the young vines of the vineyard and from lots selected during the blending process of the first label.
Since the estate was taken over in 2005 by Céline Villars-Foubet and Jean Merlaut, the selection process has become increasingly rigorous in order to produce high-quality wines, worthy of a Grand Cru Classé.

Tasting notes
This is a structured wine with vibrant fruit, combining finesse and balance. It pairs beautifully with beef tenderloin accompanied by a two-pepper sauce, veal paupiettes, or succulent duck confit.
Vintage Notes
The 2005 vintage will be remembered as one of outstanding quality, with exceptionally dry conditions from winter to autumn, very unusual for Bordeaux. The late spring and summer were warm and sunny without any heat waves.
In August, the significant difference between daytime and nighttime temperatures accelerated ripening without increasing alcohol levels. These factors resulted in an exceptional balance between sweetness and acidity. In September, the gradual decrease from summer temperatures maintained this balance, allowing for an early and comfortable harvest.
